One of the NFL's few true three-way players, seeing action on defense, offense, and special team's primary positions H-back and linebacker, but capable of playing fullback, tight end defensive end. Inside linebacker and outside linebacker. A multi-talented athlete combines rare combination of speed and strength in powerful build, tough, hard nosed player brings enthusiasm and all out effort to every play. Hendrickson is a reckless special teams player. Always among team play in post season play for the Chargers in the 1990's. Started two games at linebacker, including Indianapolis and Denver. The highlight of season was 5-yrd TD plunge to solidify 17-0 triumph over KC in wild card playoff Jan 3 1993. Led Chargers in special teams tackles with 12 including 10 solo, grabbed season high of 6 tackles in 34-14 win at Indianapolis Oct. 18.

Returned to linebacker for 1992 season after spending 1990-91 campaigns at H-back for Chargers. Continued to see action at Halfback in short yardage and goal line situations.1991 played in 15 games.  Starting at H-back first career NFL start came Oct 15 against Cleveland and scored two Td's, one rushing one receiving on just five times carrying the ball. The first NFL reception 2 yards from John Friez, came versus Cleveland Oct. 20, scored first rushing TD on first NFL carry, 3 yard plunge in 24-21 victory over New Orleans Nov 17 final status included four receptions for 35 yards (9.0) average with career long of 20 yards versus Seattle Nov 10. Ranked 3rd on team with 12 special team tackles. 1990: Originally signed as free agent Sept. 19, 1990 to play linebacker and special teams but moved to H-back to take advantage of his punishing blocking skills. Tied team lead with 10 special teams' tackles and led Chargers with 10 special teams hits. Caught first NFL pass, 12-yarder from John Friez in the season finale with the Raiders. Released by 49ers Sept. 3, 1990, before signing with San Diego in 1989. Played in 15 regular season games, including 4 with Dallas and 11 with San Francisco. Played in three playoff games with 49ers, including Super Bowl XXIV. On 49ers roster for first 4 weeks of season waived Sept 27 by 49ers then resigned Sept 29, released by 49ers Oct 2 Awarded on waivers to Dallas Oct 3 for Week 5 contest and remained through week 8 game Waived by Cowboys Nov 1 and re-signed as free-agent to 49ers' Developmental Squad Nov. 4 activated after cleaning procedural waivers Nov. 10. In 1989 postseason Recorded eight special team stops in three games Came to NFL as sixth round draft choice by 49ers in 1989,167th player chosen overall.

Had career high 134 tackles as senior in 1988, earning honorable mention All-PAC 10, Associated Press All America honorable mention, All West Coast first team by United Press International. Played in Blue-Gray games his senior season. .selected games most Defensive Valuable Player. Received multiple Cal team award Joe Roth Award for courage and sportsmanship; teams' strength award; Golden Bear Award for most tackles in a season recorded 10 or more tackles in 10 different contests. Played all seven positions and Defensive front for Cal. Earned team's Most Valuable Player of the Year as fullback and linebacker junior and senior years. Runs football camp for Northern California youth during off season enjoys hunting and jet skiing, nicknamed "rocket" by teammates for special teams attitude. Majored in history.
