 "POWER CAMP™"

The Concept:

Power Camp™ is a unique concept combining the best of many successful programs. Where we use sports as a tool to develop life skills with the youth we serve. Our goal is to make a positive life changing experience with at risk youth, using professional athletes and coaches to deliver important and relevant messages.

*Next "Power Camp" San Diego in  San Diego, October 6th, 2001 at the William J. Oakes Branch of the Boys & Girls Club.

The kids will be chosen by the participating organizations based on need, past achievements ( grades, citizenship, literacy) and projected impact on the children.

The students will receive books, t-shirts, sports items, resource information, and many other things in a "goody" bag.

All of the children will be sponsored by the participating organization's, companies and individuals.

Curriculum: Objectives - to use sports and athletes/coaches to reach these kids and teach them helpful and important life skills.

Education - Reading is Fundamental, Goal Setting, Computers, why learning is important and why one must learn how to learn.

Sports & Games - Instruction with professional athletes- football and basketball.

Mentoring - One on one interaction with professional athletes and coaches who care about them.
